I was up half an hour before my alarm because I didn’t get to sleep well last night so my phone buzzing with a text, which I would normally sleep through, woke me. It was Steven who was wigging because Katie was two minutes late. When I got to work I told him the next time he contacts me prior to my alarm the studio had better be on fire and he better have called Dana, our Chief Engineer, first. Other than that it was a typical crazy morning at work. No live reporter but we did have two live in studio interviews, one with a pug who was just too adorable. I also confirmed that the lighting engineer is coming on Saturday so I get to go in on Saturday and help deal with that. I went to Subway for lunch with my parents before my dad headed back home. My mom and I spent the afternoon watching Five-0 as usual. I got quite a bit of knitting done and I played a little RuneScape and finished another quest. Well I have to get to bed. Tomorrow’s another day, the news never sleeps, and the show can’t go on without the director! 😉
Well the weekend is drawing to a close but I’m smiling. I got up this morning and played some RuneScape and managed to complete that quest I was getting tripped up on yesterday. The experience rewards boosted some of my levels to the point where I have the requirements for some more quests so I’m happy about that. My dad arrived and he, my mom, and I went out for breakfast. We came back to the apartment for a bit and then we headed out to the movie theatre to see Beauty and the Beast. The showtime we had wanted was sold out but we were able to get tickets and get seated right away for the next showing. The movie was fantastic. Emma Watson is amazing. After the movie we went to Applebee’s for dinner and I had steak and garlic mashed potatoes. While at dinner my mom asked if I’d heard anything recently from my friend Kyle who was the director before me. After dinner we came back to the apartment and I jumped in the shower. I got out and lo and behold I had a message from Kyle waiting for me. I swear sometimes it’s like my mom has ESP.
Well, seeing as I have to be at work at 2 AM I had better get to bed.
There’s nothing quite like a relaxing Saturday around the apartment. Floors vacuumed, sheets washed, beds made; I couldn’t ask for better in terms of productivity. A sorely needed flexibility yoga session helped loosen muscles that were still aching from work earlier this week. I got to play some Sims (not much because it kept crashing) and some RuneScape (got several quests done but the one I’m now on I kept messing up so I decided to take a break). I also got some knitting done and of course while all this was going on it was a Hawaii Five-0 marathon. It’s a perfect day and still not over quite yet.
Now that I’ve got my entry for the day I’m going to resume admiring the work of the amazing actor that is Alex O’Loughlin. (If you haven’t heard of him, google him and check out his work. You won’t regret it!)
Yes, I’m Irish. Yes, I wore green, specifically my green blazer over my black tee with the phrase “Irish for a day” on it. Work was pretty good today. My shows were fairly smooth and my ribs still hurt from laughing so hard at my coworkers many antics including attempts at Irish accents.
After work I came home to my apartment and my mom and I relaxed for a bit before going out for lunch (which was more like breakfast because we had breakfast food even though it was after noon) and getting groceries. We then spent the rest of the day watching Hawaii Five-0. Of course me being me, I had to get up and move around pretty frequently. All in all a pretty great way to spend St. Patrick’s Day.
Cheers to the weekend!
